Two cranes are depicted circling juniper trees in the traditional Chinese style. Cranes and trees are both symbolic of longevity in Asian lore and are often featured in works of art from the Orient. It is made of saa paper, which comes from the mulberry tree, and is wonderfully handcrafted in Thailand, where the tradition of umbrella-making extends back centuries.

This is a beautiful small umbrella, light weight and easy to manage. I keep it in the car as it is very hot where I live. It does have a very strong smell initially from the materials used but a few days opened outside on the porch let it “cure”.
