Proud Peacocks

Scientists believe the reason for the glamourous tail is to attract a female to mate. On the tail feathers of the peacock are eye-like spots that help give it its unique and incredible look. These spots are surrounded by a range of colorful tail feathers including green red gold and blue. The peahen will actually choose its mating partner according to the color length and width of the male's tail. The peacock is a social bird and likes to stay in groups. Left alone they can become depressed. Although amazing-looking creatures they make a very unpleasant sound that is not fun to hear for humans.
