Land of the Enchanted

This vibrant landscape wall fan portrays a busy Thai village during the early morning hours. Some had figures and animals in it and others were more like a monochrome landscape devoid of people and animals. Thai art on the other hand has usually held to a particular style. While landscape painting was not the strength or focus of Thai art (it was the almost exclusively the rendition of Buddha figures) Thai artists began focusing more on landscape early last century. Not realism and not quite impressionism either Thai artists brought their own unique blend of artistry to the landscape genre.
