This spectacular fan is one of our most dramatic works. It features a group of Oriental cranes flying through a panorama of blue and white foliage. Below the cranes is a body of water painted in black white and blue for a stirring effect. If you like blue this Thai wall fan is an ideal choice. It is completely painted by hand and can be the masterpiece you have been looking to hang over your bed or couch. The crane the feature animal of this work is one of the most unique birds in the world. At nearly six feet in length the crane is the world’s tallest flying bird. The red-crowned crane can weigh up to an amazing 25 lbs. These long-legged birds with super-long necks have rounded wings and streamlined bodies. While males and females look almost identical the average male is just a bit larger than the average female. The crane makes a trumpeting sound from its long trachea. These calls can be heard from several kilometers away. Perhaps the most notable point about the crane is its spectacular mating dance. The males do a special dance during mating season to attract female cranes. Many myths have been attached to the crane. These myths have perpetuated from such diverse regions as China Japan Korea Arabia and the Native Americans of North America. In ancient South Arabia (before the birth of Islam) three cranes were thought to be the goddesses of Mecca. In Greek culture the crane was seen as a bird of positive omen. The Greeks also believed the crane to be associated with the Greek god Apollo and a source of joy and celebration. In Asia the crane was viewed as a symbol of eternal youth and happiness. Chinese folklore asserted that the crane had a lifespan of 1000 years and mated for life with its chosen mate. The crane is one of the mystical creatures of Japan–the other being the dragon and tortoise. For some parts of history the crane was seen as a symbol of peace. These large and beautiful birds have been depicted in Asian artwork for well over a millennia. Today the tradition continues in this stunning cranes wall fan. Hang it on your wall for a rich and eye-catching look.

I opened this fan in backwards and thought there was a problem. Chad graciously explained the point. The product is amazing when opened in the right direction. Looks like I will buy a couple of them for my folks in India.
