Product Description

This vibrant landscape wall fan portrays a busy Thai village during the early morning hours. Beautifully hand-painted, this inspiring scene will create an awesome Asian decorative effect in any room and on any wall. The brilliance of the sun can be seen reflecting in the colorful waters of the river that runs through the village. The sunlight has cast an orange-like glow on the waters, as green lily pads dot the river in the foreground. A boat can be seen docked ashore. The village people can be seen throughout the painting, active with work. Several of the traditional Thai huts are featured in this work. The artist's use of color and brushstroke give the huts an impressive and detailed look. In the background are colorful trees and an azure, blue sky. This scene really makes you feel as if you are at the village at that time of day. At five feet wide and three feet high (in the large 60" size) this fabulous Thai landscape scene will draw a lot of impressive stares from all who see it. The history of Asian landscape painting dates back to ancient China. The Daoists were one of the first contributors to this medium and often painted sophisticated backgrounds. In their work could be seen animals, people and sometimes mythological creatures like dragons. Throughout China's history, and the various dynasties that accompanied its history, the landscape painting style varied. Some of it was sophisticated and some was simple. Some had figures and animals in it and others were more like a monochrome landscape devoid of people and animals. Thai art on the other hand has usually held to a particular style. While landscape painting was not the strength or focus of Thai art (it was the almost exclusively the rendition of Buddha figures), Thai artists began focusing more on landscape early last century. Simple yet poignant, the colorful art they began to produce imbued the viewer with a feeling of being in the scene. Not realism, and not quite impressionism either, Thai artists brought their own unique blend of artistry to the landscape genre. This type of art is most common in their paintings and handicrafts, such as the lovely scene in this wall fan. The bright and vibrant colors of this fan will add a cheerful glow to any room that needs a pick-me up.

Customer Feedback regarding custom wallfan:

We wanted to express our gratitude for all the trouble you went to creating the Blue Crane wall fan to match the guest bedroom. The blue color and large cranes in the wall fan coordinate perfectly with the colors in the room and the round mirror that features a large crane.

The painting is beautiful and I have no doubt that it was hand painted. When we opened up the fan we could smell the fresh oil paint (the smell was gone after a couple of days).
