Product Description

In Oriental culture, peacocks represent pride and assurance. Two spectacular, eye-catching peacocks mirror each other in this wonderful display of Asian craftsmanship. Completely hand-painted, this fabulous Asian fan depicts the magnificent peacock surrounded by a bouquet of colorful flowers. The background of the wall fan is a solid blue color, said to represent healing, trust, immortality and relaxation. The blue also helps to create a beautiful contrast to the resplendent peacocks so that they stand out. The peacock is actually the name of the male peafowl, which belongs to the pheasant family. The female peafowl is called a peahen. These birds are native to Asia and have long been portrayed in art from that region. Most people are unaware that the peacock can fly and is one of the largest flying birds in the world. At maturity, the peacock can weigh up to 13 pounds and be five feet in length. The main animals that hunt peacocks are leopards, mongoose and tigers. When the peacock senses danger, it flies off into the trees and usually sleeps there for the night. When hungry, the peacock eats both plants, insects and small animals. Only the male peacock (and not the peahen) has the characteristic colorful tail. Scientists believe the reason for the glamourous tail is to attract a female to mate. On the tail feathers of the peacock are eye-like spots that help give it its unique and incredible look. These spots are surrounded by a range of colorful tail feathers, including green, red, gold and blue. The peahen will actually choose its mating partner according to the color, length and width of the male's tail. The peacock is a social bird and likes to stay in groups. Left alone they can become depressed. Although amazing-looking creatures, they make a very unpleasant sound that is not fun to hear for humans. In the wild, peacocks can live up to 20 years but are currently an endangered species. This captivating peacock wall fan from Asia is sure to add a bold decorative element to any wall it is mounted on.

Customer Feedback regarding custom wallfan:

We wanted to express our gratitude for all the trouble you went to creating the Blue Crane wall fan to match the guest bedroom. The blue color and large cranes in the wall fan coordinate perfectly with the colors in the room and the round mirror that features a large crane.
