16″ Cambodian Buddha Head

This exquisite bust of the Buddha captures him in a particularly humanized form. Depictions of Buddha often show him as an idealized ascetic with lean, almost harsh features. Here we see a more approachable side. His cheeks and gently cleft chin appear soft. His serene is expression is calm but not other-wordly. Some classic features of Buddha depictions remain.
