In 210 BC the Chinese emperor Qin Shi Huang had a massive life-size army created from terracotta to accompany him into the afterlife and to conquer whatever lands he might find there. Over 8,000 full sized soldiers were created, each with their own features and expressions, as well as 600 horses, war chariots, and assorted weapons and regaility. Our Terracotta Warrior Chess Set features reproductions of Qin's famous clay army doing stoic battle in the timeless eternity of the netherworld. This set is hand painted as Qui's original warriors were, before being buried with him in his tomb 2,000 years ago.
Durable polystone pieces, made from a mixture of polyurethane resin and powdered stone, have a satisfying weight and texture that will appeal to casual players and collectors alike.
